A Fort Dodge woman pled guilty on July 31, 2024, to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and distribution of methamphetamine.
Amanda Johnson, formerly known as Amanda Adams, 35, was sentenced on December 12, 2024, in federal court in Sioux City. This is the second time in 5 years Johnson has been sentenced for meth distribution conspiracy.
Evidence at the plea and sentencing hearings, showed Johnson’s involvement in a conspiracy that distributed more than 1500 grams of methamphetamine in the Fort Dodge area for six months in 2023, in addition to other offenses in Iowa.
Johnson was sentenced to 144 months in prison, and must serve a term of eight years of supervised release following the imprisonment. Johnson was also sentenced to an additional 24 months in prison, consecutive to her sentence in this case, for revocation of her supervised release. The consecutive sentence stem from the revocation of her supervised release from the 2020 charges. There is no parole in the federal system.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn S. Wehde and was investigated by the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, the Iowa DCI Laboratory, Fort Dodge Iowa Police Department, Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, and the Waterloo, Iowa, based Tri-County Drug Task Force.
