Council to consider second reading Water / Sewer increases

The Fort Dodge City Council will consider the second readings for both water and sewer rate increases at tonight’s Council meeting. The increases will be a two year increase for both services, effective January 1st 2025 and January 1st 2026.

The sewer increase in particular drew criticism, due to the fund being used in September to shore up Fort Dodge Fiber construction funding shortfall. Former Councilman Terry Moehnke expressed his concerns at the last meeting about the sewer fund increase in regards to due to the internal sewer loan in September.
