The Dodger Area Rapid Transit (DART) / MIDAS Regional Transit Authority (RTA 5) will host two meetings to discuss the proposed increases in fares, as well as discontinuing the connection to Jefferson Lines. The proposed changes would take effect August 1, 2025.

DART is proposing to increase fares for Adults from $1.50/ride to $1.75/ride, Students/Seniors from $1.00/ride to $1.25/ride, Para-transit from $3.00/ride to $3.50/ride, Wait time from $18/hour to $20/hour, Adult monthly pass from $35 to $37, and Adult student/senior monthly pass from $15 to $25.
MIDAS/RTA5 is proposing to increase fares for out-of-town monthly passes from $38 to $40.
Due to decreased ridership, DART is also proposing to discontinue the Jefferson Lines connection between Fort Dodge and Williams.
Public Input Meetings are scheduled at the MIDAS Building, 602 1st Avenue South in Fort Dodge. The meetings will be July 21, 2025, at 5:30 PM and July 22, 2025, at 1:00 PM.
DART/MIDAS transit staff will be at the meetings to answer any questions and give information about the changes. Written comments must be received by July 21, 2025, at 12:00 PM. Submit all written comments to DART Transit, 602 1st Avenue South, Fort Dodge, IA 50501 or email to smahan@midascog.net.
DART transit will be available to take meeting participants home after the 5:30 pm meeting if needed.
