Budget, Parking ord., parks concrete, inspection fees highlight Council meeting

The Fort Dodge City Council will be meeting Monday for their regularly scheduled meeting, along with a preceding budget workshop.

The third reading of the updated parking ordinance will also be heard. The updates include a requirement to have a validation sticker present for public parking, parking blocking sidewalks, and updates to parked unattached trailers. Following, will be a resolution to consider updating parking ticket fees from $15 to $20 and increasing the 30 day late fee from $5 to $10.

Also on the agenda is a parks concrete project award. Cardenas Concrete LLC was the low bid, coming in at $122,238.09. This work will be performed on sidewalks, parking lots, and other concreted areas within the park system.

Updating inspection fees will also be considered. The nuisance removal and sidewalk administration fees will both be raised to $125 under the proposed plan. The nuisance admin fee, which encompasses overgrown grass and vegetation as well as rubbish, is currently $75. The sidewalk admin fee, which pertains to snow/ice removal and uneven sidewalk issues, is $50.

The budget workshop is scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM, with the regular meeting scheduled for 6:00 PM in the Council Chambers in the municipal building.
