North 22nd Street trail to be finalized

The Fort Dodge City Council will touch on some final items for the North 22nd Street trail segment at their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday.

The first item is a reimbursement resolution, identifying City of Fort Dodge’s intent to reimburse itself up to $300,000 from a future bond for a portion of the project. This will be just a portion of the funding for the project. A Regional Transportation Alternative Program grant will pay for much of the project.

The second item is an amendment to the Professional Services Agreement with Snyder & Associates for additional design services, environmental review, and construction administration of the project. The Amount of the amendment is $103,200.

The trail will span along the East side of North 22nd Street, from a point just North of Timber Lane up to an existing trail segment at 25th Avenue North. Veith Construction Corporation of Cedar Falls, Iowa was the low bidder for the project, which was awarded September 12th, 2024. Construction is expected to begin this Spring.
