The Fort Dodge City Council will consider offloading a tract of land along 5th Avenue South at their next scheduled meeting.
The lots to be sold are located at the Southwest corner of 5th Avenue South and South 16th Street. Some of the lots were acquired by the City in 2010 as part of a blight removal project.
A public hearing was held May 11th 2026 regarding disposal of the lots, and one proposal was received.
The proposal to purchase is from Camway Inc. out of Norwalk Iowa. Highlights of the proposal include construction of a one-story 2,020 square foot Dominos building, or a two unit commercial building to include a Dominos. If the project advances, construction could be completed by Spring of 2028.
The Council meeting will be Monday, June 22nd at 6:00 PM in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building.
