SkyWest Petitions USDOT for Denver Connection

SkyWest Airlines filed a ‘Request for Change in Service Pattern’ with the US Department of Transportation in regards to service provided at the Fort Dodge Regional Airport. The request proposes transitioning from 12 weekly round trips to Chicago, to 7 weekly round trips to Chicago and 5 weekly round trips to Denver. If approved by the USDOT, this new model could begin as early as May.

Simultaneously, Matt Johnson, Chairman of the Fort Dodge Regional Airport Commission, and David Flattery, Fort Dodge Mayor, authored a letter supporting the move. According to the letter, the Commission feels “this change will greatly enhance the utilization of our air service by providing seamless connectivity to both the east and west United hub cities in Chicago and Denver.”

A return of a Fort Dodge to Denver connection has been a long sought route with local travelers. We will keep you up to date as this development progresses.
