The City of Fort Dodge has announced it will temporarily lift its yard waste ban for a short period. The ban will be lifted beginning tomorrow Saturday, May 31st 2025 and extending through Jun 8th 2025.
Residents are reminded that only yard waste, such as leaves, grass clippings, straw, twigs, smalls branches, and garden vegetation from your own property are allowed to be burned.
According to the release, there are burn site rules, such as piles must be less than 3 feet wide and 2 feet high, as well as being situated more than 25 feet away from building and structure or other flammable material.
Yard waste disposal options are still available, both curbside pickup and self drop-off.
