The Fort Dodge Forestry Department will be offering its Operation Merry Mulch for the 34th year in a row. This service was developed to assist residents of Fort Dodge in the proper disposal of their Christmas trees. Christmas trees are prohibited at landfills, along with yard waste.
Trees may be dropped off at Oleson Park beginning Sunday, December 22nd. The dropside will be open until January 26th. Residents are asked to drop off their Christmas Trees at Oleson Park in the middle of the parking lot. A sign will be present, directing participants. Stands, wire, nails and ornaments must be removed from the tree.
