Local families in need are invited to come to the Webster County Fairgrounds this coming Wednesday for a free drive-thru pork loin giveaway event.
The event, named Operation Christmas Meal, is organized by the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation and Iowa Select Farms. The operation is expected to hand out 27,000 free pork loins during 24 events scheduled across Iowa.
“We believe everyone deserves a good meal, especially during the holiday’s” their website states. “As farmers, we’re proud of the product we produce – pork is a lean and powerful protein that nourishes bodies young and old. Pork is easy to prepare, full of flavor and versatile.”
The Webster County event will be Wednesday, December 11th from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Webster County Fairgrounds, 22770 Old Highway 169. Other events are scheduled for Jewell, Sac City, Laurens, Gilmore City, and Eagle Grove.
