Kicking off the Council meeting Monday evening, there will be a series of public hearings.

First up will be a public hearing on water main replacement near Loomis Park and North 7th Street. This project was amended in 2024 to create a looped connection to the City’s North side. There were 5 bidders for this project, with Rash Construction being the low bidder. City staff recommends the Council approve the low bid. That bid amount is for $2,562,165
Next up is the 2026 concrete patch project. This is an annual program that tackles areas that are in need of repair. Much of this work will be performed downtown adjacent to the Webster County Yell Building on 8th Street, and sidewalk / crosswalk work on 1st Avenue South and the South 7th and 8th Street intersections. Another target area will be the North side of Nestle Purina, near Arnold Motor Supply. City Staff recommends awarding this work to the low bidder, Cardenas Concrete, for $202,637.
The 2026 asphalt street repair project is also up for award. There is one responsive bidder for this project. That bidder was Fort DOdge Asphalt Company, with a bid of $1,964,885.06. City staff recommend accepting the bid.
This business portion of the Council Meeting will begin at 6:00PM in the Council Chambers at the municipal building, following the 5:00PM budget workshop.
