Campbell Named to Iowa DOGE Task Force

Former Webster County Supervisor Mark Campbell was recently appointed to the Iowa Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Task Force.

At the August 6th, 2025, Iowa DOGE Task Force Meeting, Campbell was listed on the electronic presentation materials.

In the days following the meeting, Campbell’s name was listed on the Iowa DOGE Task Force website. Around that same time, ReNae Arnold, Dallas County Recorder, was removed from the website.

According to the presentation, Campbell is a member of the ‘Return on Taxpayer Investment’ workgroup of Iowa DOGE. That workgroup is chaired by Terry Lutz, the former mayor of Fort Dodge and current chairman of McClure Engineering Co.

McClure Engineering is headquartered in Clive, and is a prominent engineering contractor for the City of Fort Dodge. The firm also has an office in Fort Dodge.

The ‘Return on Taxpayer Investment’ workground presented some of the more controversial Iowa DOGE recommendations. Among the recommendations were cuts to Iowa Public Employees’ Retirement System (IPERS) and proposing a ‘pay for performance’ model for school teachers.

Iowa DOGE is expected to submit a finalized report to Governor Reynolds late this year or early next year. There are reportedly 45 recommendations the Iowa DOGE is exploring.
